What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Cookies

Non-personal information

We do not associate personal information with log file information or cookies, except when needed to prevent fraud.

Website Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You can opt-out of having made your activity on the website available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

How long we retain your data

We keep contact form entries for 180 days.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Where we send your data

We may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.

We store Personal Information in the cloud, our servers, and the servers of our service providers. We will respond to any appropriate request to access, correct, update or delete your personal information within the time period specified by law (if applicable) or without excessive delay, and will fulfill requests to delete unless the request is not technically feasible or such data is required to be retained by law.

Our policy towards children

Our site is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
